Riso Nerone 500 gr. Belvedere

Black rice is originally from China but it is now grown in a few locations in the Po Valley. It is a wholemeal rice that cooks in 40 minutes, releasing a special aroma with hints of sandalwood and freshly baked bread. The black colour is a rare and very typical characteristic. Legend has it that in the past Chinese farmers cultivated it only for the emperor and his court who appreciated its nutritional and aphrodisiac properties (hence the name of forbidden rice). It is ideal boiled and seasoned with oil or butter and cheese, or used as a side dish for meat and fish dishes. This rice is certified "extra quality", thanks to the traditional stone husking process and a meticulous selection, which allows the defect rate of the product to be less than 1/3 of that required by law.
